Dead links, new links, comments, tracklisting and requests
If a link is dead just let me know thru the Chatbox and I'll get around to re-posting it for you.
As you can see I rarely post a track listing and that's because I'm a lazy bastard. I do scan the front and back covers and post them together with the tracks so I'm not that lazy ... but I'm still a bastard if you ask around. But you can always Google the LP for the track listing if you want it before downloading.
I always appreciate a comment or request and I'll do my best to help out.
99% of the LP postings on Sharebee have been replaced with Mediafire links. If you want a CD/LP with a dead Sharebee link please request it otherwise it won't be re-posted.

Amos Milburn Jr. - Gloria & Look At The Fool
Someone on eBay described "Gloria" as a "Killer Gospel R&B Mod Dancer" and there isn't a better description for it. Download it and play it loud.

Thanks go to Gerard for the extra info on Amos Milburn. Had me wondering when I was looking for info on the Milburn jr. as everyone pointed towards Amos Milburn and I wasn't sure if it was correct or not.
Is a great record for any jukeboz.
Listening once again to this 45, it seems to me that this quite obscure record was clear at leats to the ears of Van Morrison and Them. Their hit Gloria is obviously strongly influenced (not to say lifted) by the Gloria side of this 45. I don't think nobody noticed that before?
When I looking for some info on the 45 I did notice that someone mentioned the similarity to Them's Gloria.
It does sound similar but what are the chances of Van Morrison ever hearing this 45 in Ireland at the time.
Well, it is possible as the Amos Milburn Jr. track was released in 1963 on the Stateside label in the Netherlands. Van was in Germany late 1963 with the International Monarchs. They released a single on CBS in the Netherlands/Germany only.
Them recorded Gloria in July 1964.
So maybe it is possible after all.
Also Van spent a short period in the Netherlands after leaving Them. Cuby & The Blizzards backed him while playing in the Netherlands. There is a live recording of Gloria plus other tracks from this period on the lp "Please no smoke".
Thanks Xyros for the info. In fact it doesn't really matter if Van was inspired or not by Milburn. Gloria by the Them is still a great tune.
