Professor Longhair - Mardi Gras In New Orleans

There have been a couple of cd releases with the same title and different tracks but this is the original on Nighthawk records. Plenty of rarities are featured on Mardi Gras in New Orleans , making it a valuable cross-section of Professor Longhair's early releases. Both sides of the pianist's first two 78s for Star Talent Records are aboard, as well as sides he cut for Mercury, Federal ("Curly Haired Baby," "Gone So Long"), Wasco ("East St. Louis Baby"), Atlantic, and Ebb.

Thanks for all these recent albums! The original LP's are becoming harder to find all the time - especially in good condition. Smart vinyl collectors are snapping them up at any price because of the value of the large artwork as well as the music!

thank you so much for this disc, as well as the doctor Clayton one. Please feel free to take a look at my blog. I'm sorry if many of the links are no longer functioning. As soon as my carpal tunnel syndrome gets better, I promise to re-upload them. I hope I am not the first to tell you that you are doing America and American music a favor by uploading all of this beautiful art..
