Hi my name is Mary. I have a cartoon drawing of a jazz musician titled "Little Joe". the drawing indicated it was drawn in Shiverport, Lousianna 1940.

Is there any information you can give me on this art work.

People keep wanting to buy it from me.

Thanks,

Mary

Those are decent records, but that's not Joe playing guitar, it's a studio guy.

Thank you for the info Franck. I've never really liked these LP's but it's still a disappointment to read that Little Joe didn't do the guitar work. Wonder why they or Joe himself chose not to do it.

Joe played rudimentary but very soulful BB-inspired guitar, and he would have been more than up to the task, but evidently Leon Haywood felt that a generic-sounding, rock-influenced guitar player would help sell more records. Go figure...

Has anyone found out the name of the guitarist who plays those dynamite solos of LJB's Soul Set 45 from the live blues festival?

Sorry to break the news to you, but Joe doesn't play any guitar on those Evejim records, it's some session guy.

@ Franck Goldwasser, that's ok. I've come to terms with it since you first broke the bad news to me back in 2015. :-)
