    This british session has been issued several times throughout the years, most of the time under the tag "John Lee Hooker with the Groundhogs". The presence of John Mayall on tracks tracks was hidden probably for contractual reasons and the piano/organ playing of John was credited to a certain Tom Parker!

    @ Hester!, while I really like the Groundhogs, especially their early lp's, their music doesn't fit in with the blog. Maybe some kind soul will post links for you though.

    Interesting, but if you know the collaboration of John Lee Hooker and Canned Heat, that is the real deal in my opinion. Nobody played better with the Hook. For me it is in the same vein like the Paul Butterfield Blues Band. Simply great music with a feeling and understanding.

    anyway, Mayall or no Mayall this is good. I have the same in a LP with those damn extra horns, bought by my father, under three labels: Wand, Vogue and Scepter, 1975, the sticker on the disc itself is Vogue! apart from the date, no infos or datings, nothing. (brown cover with the loading of a Mississippi boat) .
