Frit's Singles Vol. 1 - 119 (re-post)

Way back when the blog started Frits was kind enough to share his collection of 45's he had backed up. Over the years there have been a couple requests to re-post them and I had promised to do it when I had the time. So here they are  119(!) volumes each with about 12-16 tracks in alfabetical order including a track list. Unfortunately I don't have the track lists in a separate file to make the downloading easier, so please don't ask for it.
There are (almost) no duplications with  Hartmut's  collection of 45's.

vol. 1-17: https://workupload.com/file/uWdYVDz
vol. 18 - 33: https://workupload.com/file/ebPKyu7
vol. 34 - 50: https://workupload.com/file/GkcTcXP
vol. 51 - 66: https://workupload.com/file/pLExAC2
vol. 67 - 83: https://workupload.com/file/RLSMkPq
vol. 84 - 101: https://workupload.com/file/aUvcjz7
vol. 102 - 113: https://workupload.com/file/9ApzpyX
vol. 114 - 119: https://workupload.com/file/xAMg7fk

Please read the comments from theoldgrinch for corrections to the tagging, seems to be a fair amount of mistakes.
Once again many thanks to Frits for sharing his collection.

Thanks for this amazing load of blues! I've been around and collecting for a lot of years. These apparently are all from 45s and although I've been in many many record stores, I can't remember seeing more than a few select blues 45s. So I have to wonder how Frits managed to locate them all. What record store back in the day carried all these obscure 45s?

Xyros said...

Good question Soulpapa. I can only guess but there used to be 1 or 2 Blues record stores in the Netherlands, also thru other collectors, auctions etc.
Those days have long since gone.

wov, many thanks, special thanks for the 35 tracks by the great Ray Agee ( part 1 )

soulpapa said...

That's what makes this post very valuable. Many of these have never been on comps before and probably never will. Thanks again!

Phenomenal post! I doubt I'll ever go through all of this but it sure is a gas to have it in store!

@soulpapa & xyros: Back in those days there were good mail order record shops: Paul 'Sailor' Vernon, Jim O'Neal, Chris Strachwitz, Paul Duvivie (?) and not to forget Red Lick in GB. And as Frits has almost the same 45's I have, I think he might have bought there as well.I personally doubt that he bought them in a record store in the Netherland.

I used to be a frequent poster on several music blogs but have been away for several years, While I do thank you for the effort, I feel the need to warn you, there are many problems in these downloads, I got them all yesterday morning and have just opened them, I chose part 49 at random, a quick look there are 3 tracks (5,6 & 18) with incorrect titles, then I tried part 1, track 4 has title missing should be "I Still Love You", track 5 claims to be Paula 349, it is not, track 1 is clearly a you tube rip and probably from a Japanese unofficial CD comp, it is 35 seconds shorter than the 45 should be, so far only looking at 2 only parts I havent found anything right, I got discusted and closed the files

@ theoldgrinch, thank you for your corrections. Sorry that it spoilt your listening pleasure but mistakes happen when tagging hundreds of tracks. Frits did his best and I don't have the time or inclination to check them.
I did check your corrections:
Part 49 track 6 seems to be General Artist GA1004
Part 49 track 5 I can't find online.
Part 49 track 18 should be Chittlins not Chittling
Part 1 track 4 is Paula 343, not 349' and has the correct time according to the label shots.

theoldgrinch said...

part 49 track 5 correct title is Right Shakey, not Right whiskey

track 6 correct title is Don't Get Sassy, not Don't get away

part 1 track 5 is Paula 343, not Paula 349

track 1 label shot clearly shows time at 2 minutes and 20 seconds

actual length is 1 minute 55 seconds, a few seconds can be accounted for by trimming the lead in and fade out but not a full 25 seconds so I dont yet know whats going on there, I supose it could even be a misprint on label, but several of the other Buddy Ace tracks also have time that doesnt match label

I have not looked past part 49 and the first 1/2 of part 1 yet, It will prob take me weeks or months to check it all

Links no longer work for the volumes I still need (18-33, 67-83, 54-101), and presumably for the others as well. Repost?

Thanks so much for these. Any chance for re-up. Missed the last two links.

Xyros said...

Frits Singles have new links now.

Thank for the reup.

Got to part 9 so far, every part has some mistakes mostly incomplete artist credit and misspelled titles. But part 9 has a big mistake, track 5 is not Sonny Blake !, it is James Armstrong, it is a split record with a different singer on each side, Cheers

It's a crazy amount of work just downloading it, and unzipping it--I can't imagine how much work it was to put together! Many thanks to you and Frits! - Stinky

Hi!

THANX! (A BIG one) for all this work from everyone. Know a guy who's "into" (don't remember the proper term = there is one) labeling etc. music "correctly." He could be interested in "sorting" these Files out. OK to attempt & ask him? Don't want to "step on any toes", so just asking for now. Will come back HERE (in THIS "Comments" section) for any response(s).

Cheers!
Ciao! For now.

@ mtcj, please feel free to ask your friend. Though anyone into tagging must have a loose screw somewhere :-). My only worry is that if it's not done properly things will get worse.

Hey Xyros! Will check with my friend & get back to you here.

Cheers!

THANKS for this post. What I did with it; I downloaded all the covers or singles from 45cat and/or discogs.
A hell of a work but it looks very good now.
I found also a lot of little misstypes but it is easy to correct.

Thanks again!!

@theoldgrinch
instead of complains, enjoy the music and by the way...No.9, track 5 is not James Armstrong it is Jimmy but it is the same CMC record.
there are much more incorrect entries but as I said, enjoy it.
