Thanks. Lots of strong soul never presented before. Vol. 6 has two head-scratchers on it:
Track #3: Diane Simpson - Right Track. Anybody know anything about this record. I can't find anything about it. Also Track #19 Danny Howard - Standing At A Standstill. Obviously this is totally wrong. The song is "It'll Never Be Over for Me" but by who???

After careful listening, a tweaked and accelerated version of the Baby Washington "It'll Never Be Over for Me" cover.

For "The Right Track" same backing track and time as Billy Butler with altered voice. It's wrong !!!

It'll Never Be Over for Me is not Timi Yuro. It's a male singer

Of course the tags are off, it was a Northern Madman share originally on TZ.
Nothing he ever shared there was correctly. But hs shared a lot, and am gratefully to him, for some great collections, but your getting it for free!! You have to take the good with the bad!!

Great investigative work. After listening to Billy Butler's 'Right Track', it's definitely the same backing track. I would have to surmise that Okeh tried the song with a female artist but decided the Billy Butler version was the the one to release.

Your discernment regarding the Baby Washington side was very astute. I agree that this is the Sue record speed up. This was probably done by a collector and not the company, using a worn copy of the record to make it sound more like an authentic rarity.

Thanks for taking the time to figure these out. You sound like a very knowledgeable person.

@Frank
Thank you for the praise that goes straight to my heart. It's true that I've been a big collector of Soul since the 60s (I'm 77 years old) and I like to share my humble knowledge.

Thank you all for your detective work and expertise in clearing up the questions surrounding those 2 tracks.

I saw they were posted on TZ, too. Thought it sucked. It's one thing to post something you had and didn't remember where you got it, it's another to see something posted on one blog, and then post it again elsewhere within days is pretty shitty.

Not being anonymous and afraid of repurcussions...
