Blues Boy Rawlins is playing the harmonica, which he played in rack around his neck like Blind Joe Hill & Jimmy Reed did.Seven Echohttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14792581467747885036noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5564093350797322784.post-1240811184145222422016-04-10T06:15:43.351+02:002016-04-10T06:15:43.351+02:00Thank you very much!Thank you very much!GFRhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02752827154217350606noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5564093350797322784.post-13117525219154838522014-09-04T21:03:18.271+02:002014-09-04T21:03:18.271+02:00The photo on the album cover was taken in the entr...The photo on the album cover was taken in the entry way to Jake's Club Safara at 54th & Vermont in S. Central Los Angeles, the door was to the left. I remember Jake saying that Lovin' Daddy picked what he wanted in the picture including all those people and the wine bottles. Playing guitar for Shakey Jake was a lot of fun, I'm glad I had the opportunity to meet him and become his friend.Seven Echohttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14792581467747885036noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5564093350797322784.post-6388468253003474922014-09-04T08:29:56.905+02:002014-09-04T08:29:56.905+02:00Thank you Seven Echo for sharing your memories of ...Thank you Seven Echo for sharing your memories of Blues Boy. Daddy would perform at Jake's Club Safara on the occasion, usually just showing up when he felt like it. Quite a character. He was a transient at the time. I doubt he ever recorded before or since this albumSeven Echohttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14792581467747885036noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5564093350797322784.post-68341838404505430942012-08-15T13:06:15.984+02:002012-08-15T13:06:15.984+02:00A great unknown. Apparently, this man called "Bobby" played in the streets in the LA area and for a long period. This might be his sole recording. There is a contemporary singer and harp player L. Kensey (http://www.myspace.com/harpjam)who have learned his blues from him, played in the sreets with our man. Kinsey leads a blues band called HarpJam that seems to be quite active in California.Gerard Herzhafthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02847006282160108348noreply@blogger.com
