I don't have any information about this recording, but I can say that there is another recording by the same name, on which Fess is performing with a full band. This is a welcome addition to my Prof. Longhair collection, and while the sound quality is not great, and I'm not a fan of harmonica (though I don't find it very intrusive here - unlike the pans on some Prof. Longhair recordings!), this is a very good performance. Thanks for posting it!
The live recordings of Fess are usually pretty bad. This is, thankfully, an excpetion to the rule. Ranks right behind the Queen Mary record and the Tipitina's on NYE bootleg. Thanks, Xyros!

Thank you for this album. As I accumulate the history of the Blues, I like to have 3 different parts of an artist life works. First album, later albums to see the growth. Finally I love live albums. I like the rawness of live. No overdubs or tweaks. This allows Showmanship to shine through to delivery the message of their verses! Peace, love & Blessings...

during the sixties I was a little kid, and
overheard what happened to be in the radio.
The first part of seventies brought to me
a recording device. Somewhwere nearing the
mid-seventies it was when a gig of Professor
was transmitted, (tv or radio). I liked it a lot.
I'm grateful because of the sharing of this album.
Longhair was one of the very first blues artists
I happened to notice.
