Just a point about George's recording. This was cut in 2 sessions and with one exception all takes were 1st or 2nd takes. George had been brought in to do a Blues Sampler cd to do two songs. He cut about 10 in the time allotted for the two. At that point I think the producer's probably said....with another session we could have the whole cd together.... And that's what happened. I had been playing with George for several years regularly at either his gigs or mine. When we started recording George wouldn't even shout out a key..he'd just start playing. I was very familiar with his repertoire and I'd give the key to the rest of the band. And off we'd go. CSB aka DrHepcat!
@ drhepcat, thank you for your inside story on how this cd came about. Very enjoyable back to the fifties blues cd that thankfully is not overproduced.
