Don't Ask Me ... I Don’t Know has been around now for about 16 years posting Blues LP’s and CD’s and whatever else I feel like.
Your help in filling requests or with LP/CD rips are always very welcome and greatly appreciated. Enjoy the music but don't forget to support the artists and labels.
Would anyone know who is playing on this LP? It was issued in 1961 under the name Cal Carter (Calvin Carter) who is not playing anything here. Carter was one of the head boss at Vee Jay and I suppose that all the musicians on this set are well known Chicago sessions men. But it would be nice to know who was playing what? Thanks.
I have no idea Gerard. I bought this LP with a couple of other LP's cheaply on a local internet site recently. The seller had some interesting Garage, Surf, R&B 45's also. I bought The Daylighters on Bea&baby, Royal Jokers on Fortune, The Phantom on Karisma plus a couple more. These don't turn up often and not in the Netherlands
Tnaks Xyros. I knew this odd LP for some time now and I was always puzzled that this Vee Jay session is not listed in any serious blues and R&B discography. Vee Jay used to hold the complete personnel of all their sessions (generally with the amount of money payed to each) and I'm pretty sure this one was also listed. I don't know who by now owns the Vee Jay tapes and vaults....
