Recordings originally made
for the Bihari brothers' Modern label in the 1940s and 1950s were
subject to several reissue campaigns throughout the following decades.
Kent Records, established by the Biharis after Modern had gone bankrupt,
was the most qualified company to take on this task, especially in
contrast to the efforts of more cut-rate outfits such as United Superior
and Crown.
So here you have all 12 volumes of 'The Anthology Of The Blues" series originally released in 1969/70 on Kent.... though some of the LP's used are on the United or Musidisc labels.

I just downloaded and tested vol. 1 and 11 and they extracted alright for me. Anyone else have problems with unpacking the rar file?
I just tried Volume 1 again and the same thing happened, it could not be decompressed entirely. Tracks 2 and 7 didn't download.

Remember when this series first appeared on vinyl, was big news in the blues collector world. Loved the BB King in this series and played the LP to death, he's got a dirty rough guitar tone on some of these very early tracks.
Links don't work anymore. Any chance of reupload? These are rare. Thank you.
@ Anonymous, I'll get around to re-posting the Blues Anthology series in about 2 weeks
Hi!
Thanx for these GREAT comps!!
Cheers!
Ciao! For now.

The link for Detroit Blues is incorrect - it gives you the post-war blues album.
Rganks so much, it's fantastic!!! Roberto
Most of the files have expired and do'nt exist anymore on Zippyshare
Mucho thanks for all 12 in one place!!!
Lead Belly: The Smithsonian Folkways Collection (2015)
~ 5 Disc Box Set | with Booklet and Art Work ~
Track Lists:
https://www.discogs.com/Lead-Belly-The-Smithsonian-Folkways-Collection/release/6711938
Lead Belly: The Smithsonian Folkways Collection, the first career-spanning box set dedicated to the American music icon, ... 5 CD's ... featuring 5 hours of music with 16 unreleased tracks.
"Prestige box sets of pre-rock music that out-price the casual fan or curious newcomer tend to emphasize an artist’s importance and influence, carefully delineating his or her legacy across subsequent generations of followers. You listen because it’s good for you, is the implication, which is certainly worthwhile as far as that goes. But rarely is this type of retrospective quite as much fun as Lead Belly: The Smithsonian Folkways Collection. It’s not only the first full career retrospective of one of the most significant musicians of the twentieth century. It’s also a blast."

2 KD, this was a very nice surprise and I'm sure others will enjoy the set also.
Unfortunately I can only keep it online for about a week as it's a reasonably new release and I don't want to much attention from the powers above (or is it from below).
OK,
Better Safe Than Sorry
Glad You Liked the Post Though
Wow - many thanks to both Xyros and KD!
