Wonderful album, certainly her most bluesy. I bought this LP at Darby's Record Store in Mobile in the early 80's. I was only looking for blues records that were locally produced (and at that time unavailable anywhere else and sometimes completely unknown outside their area) and Ms White who was just selling the records from the counter told me she had done several singles and an LP for her boss, Ike Darby! After that, she became quite a star in the southern chitlin' circuit. I had not heard about her for some years now... If anybody has news...
Thank you very much to you Anonymous and MarcD. I was wondering why she quit the Soul blues circuit and where she was... She was a very hot Soul singer and on stage and as she said she could make "all the women jealous of her and all the men leaping in her hand"... I guess, as a minister of God, she keeps the same ability to bring all Souls to Jesus?
Many thanks for this great album. I saw Lynn perform in London as part of the Waylo Show that toured Europe in 1989. I thought she was wonderful on the night and was better than Ann Pebbles.

I asked Bobby Rush in July about Lynn and he told me that she is an active pastor in Mississippi.

Thanks Gerard.

Always felt Lynn White was sorely overlooked. Thanks!
I came across her website:
A Word For Life Int'l Ministries

Gerard if y-o-u don't know what's become of her, what hope have we of knowing. [grin]
Seriously, she recorded that CD with Bobby Rush in 1998 and then nothing...except two greatest hits compilations around 2000 or so.
