The good Doctor filling a request for Slipry.

For those who wouldn't know, those 1963 Chicago sessions are very different of what Josh did usually at that time of his long career. In most of the tracks of this session, he is backed by a small Chicago blues band featuring no one other than the great Sonny Boy Williamson II (Rice Miller) in great blowing shape and ace keyboardist Floyd Miller. Unfortunately, the sound (coming probably from quite worn LP's) is very often scratchy... But it's better like this than nothing. I used to work once in the early 90's for Polygram and I had acesss to the original tapes of these sessions that I wanted them to reissue as a CD. Anyway (like so often with majors) nobody was interested... Thank you Xyros to make those rarities available.

Thank you Gerard for the info. I've never appreciated Josh White maybe because he was a bit to " folky" for me back in the 70's when I started listening to the blues. Gave a couple of tracks a quick listen a they are more my taste than I expected.
If I have time and there is enough interest I can try and clean them up a bit.

Xyros...I was the same as you, I first listened to Josh White back in the mid 1960s and just dismissed him as being too folky for my tastes. But in recent years I've listened to more Josh White and found the man was an excellent guitarist and a fine blues singer.

Thank you. Unlike Xyros and Bob Mac I like just that folkie sound of Josh White. But the good thing is that there are blues for all tastes, thankfully!
My english is too poor, sorry
