I doubt if this was 66. Winter didn't break out of Texas until 68.
Where did I get 1966 from????. It should be 1971 or at least that is what on the cover.
You've probably got all this info but.....
Recorded live, Liberty Hall, Houston, 9 May 1971. First released January 2nd 1996 by Thunderbolt (UK) CDTB 166
Roy C. Ames discovered a young Johnny Winter and for years promoted him, recording him behind several Texas bluesmen. He probably took the opportunity of a Willie Dixon's Chicago All Stars Band date at Houston to fill the gap of a missing guitarist in putting "his" Johnny onstage with Willie's band. Roy sold Johnny Winter's exclusive contract to CBS for a good amount of $. He needed it badly to pay his lawyers in a bad case of child porn/abuse. Roy will eventually go to jail twice for that.
And Winter had an association with Dixon/Horton well before this 1971 concert as Dixon/Horton played on Johnny's 1968 CBS LP.
Thanks Bob Mac... I'm pretty sure Johnny Winter wasn't originally on the bill on 9 may 1971. See: http://jerrygarciasbrokendownpalaces.blogspot.fr/2012/06/liberty-hall-1610-chenevert-houston-tx.html
This file is giving me fits, wont open and now the folder cannot be moved or deleted...what's up with that?
@ S R Management, sorry you're having a problem but it works fine for me.
If you have a PC try finding some freeware that will unlock and delete the folder when you restart the pc. I've had similar problems in the past with movies.
