Rosay is Detroit Soul/Jazz singer Rozaa (wometimes Rosay) Wortham. She recorded several LPs and CDs. She toured Europe and Morocco with Kenny Clark and Dexter Gordon, played the lead role in the Broadway musical two Gentlemen of Verona and also a minor role in the Gordon Parks' movie "Lead Belly". She settled in Europe for awhile where she met Champion Jack Dupree and Louisiana Red. It's probably in France (and not in Detroit) that she recorded this rather downhome blues album, probably during the 1970's or early 80's. She also recorded several albums which are, apparently, more jazz than blues: Are you ready willing and able, Blues for Mr Charlie, The Unpredictable moods of Rosay (all on Orchid records)

@ Gerard Herzhaft : merci pour ces précisions Gérard. Elles sont précieuses. Je ne connaissais pas cette artisteL Les titres (entre autres) avec Louisiana Red à l'acoustique sont puissants et très fun !

Thanks Gerard for the Rosay's resumè, had no idea that she had
performed with Klook and Dex. I thought it would be interesting
to post the only Rosay Wortham boot that I know of, and what
a boot! Here she performs with the great Jimmy Witherspoon!
Sound quality wise it's perfect, albeit in a slightly unusual format
(WMA @320). Please enjoy:
