Thanks for this Xyros. I had the Raw Blues LPs back in the late 60s/early 70s, they sold very well in Australia and you'd hear local blues bands doing lots of songs from those LPs.

I'm surprised the Raw Blues box set got to Australia and then the Perth outback. This was a Dutch only box set I believe. Around the same time Jimi Hendrix - In New York, Various - Blues From Holland, John Mayall - Blues Giant plus some others also came out as box sets. Not something that was common at the time.

Hi Xyros, do you have the Blues From Holland Box? Being a neighbour (Belgium), I knew and was a fan of Cuby, Oscar Benton BB, Livin'Blues and a few others in my (much) younger days. Apart from the plodding Burning Plague, there weren't any half-decent blues bands in Belgium (it has changed later).
I still have a few LP that i listen to occasionnally (the first Oscar Benton BB being an old favourite).
Cheers

Sorry Boogieman but it's one of those LP's I could've bought a couple of times for almost nothing but didn't. Now it's about €30 in reasonable condition. Maybe it will turn up one day.

Xyros. Raw Blues was released in Australia not as a boxset but single LPs. Not called "Raw Blues Now" but just "Raw Blues" I think there were 3 LPs released. Most of the tracks also turned up on other LPs.

I just did a check. First LP was on Ace of Clubs, released in Oz 1967. There was def' a Vol 2, and I think a 3rd but not 100% sure.

Back in 1967 there wasn't much available in blues LPs in Perth, Raw Blues was also a budget priced LP, so as I said it sold well.
