Don't Ask Me ... I Don’t Know has been around now for about 14 years posting Blues LP’s and CD’s and whatever else I feel like.
Your help in filling requests or with LP/CD rips are always very welcome and greatly appreciated. Enjoy the music but don't forget to support the artists and labels.
Thanks Xyros. I hadn't listen to this album for close to 50 years. I remember I didn't like it - and therefore didn't buy it. With hindsight, I think I was right, there were much better albums around at the time to spend my sparse pocket money on. Looks like Mike Vernon wanted to emulate the Electric Mud sound. Not my cup of tea but some might dig it.
I spoke with Mike Vernon about this record recently. he wasn't that happy with it, but typical of Mike, he kind of chuckled. Marshall wanted to be the next Jimi Hendrix. It was Marshall that wanted to make a record like this. To hear some of the toughest ghetto Blues guitar ever, check out Marshall on various single by George Smith on Sotoplay, etc
Nobody seems to know whatever became of Marshall. He had a brother named Willie Hooks that played saxophone I believe. They were from Arkansas but their family relocate to Los Angeles when they were young. Marshall was George Smith's guitar player and can be hear on many singles by George such as Blowin' The Blues, Trap Meat, etc
