My eternal gratitude to you, whomever you may be, for this post. Two national treasures, Ron and Sonny that is, ignored by the public at large. You are infinitely hip for knowing about these people.

Thanks for the hard to find slide.

I don't know who you are, or why you do what you do, but I want you to know that this post makes my heart sing! I can never thank you enough for it. The fact that the sounds quality is perfect is the icing on the cake! A live recording of Sonny and Ron in their prime on their home turf, it simply doesn't get any better. Thanks a million!

This is not from '78... Sonny mentions his first trip to Europe, which was in 1980.

Thank you Franck for your praise and I'm sure KansasJoe will appreciate it very much as it was his posting. This was a surprise for me also when I received the file and the sound is good for a 128kbs file.
I think you got the date of Mark Weber's photo (1978) mixed up with the tagged date of 1981.

Re:07-Barbary Coast Blues Band - ???

This is a mash-up of two Jimmy Reed songs:
The "baby what's on your mind" part comes from the Reed tune "Baby What's on your Mind" and the "don't pull no subway" line comes from Reed's tune "My First Plea."

If you wanted to make a real nice gesture, you could re-upload this. It is for Sonny himself.

I thank you largely on his behalf.

@ Fralego,
Hope Sonny is in good health and that he enjoys the tapes.

Thanks very much for this, I appreciate it. Sonny was not feeling so good this weekend so I wasn't able to go see him. I will get the recordings to him by mail, he will enjoy them very much I'm sure. It is particularly significant to have the Keystone recording since Ron Thompson died about two months ago. Next Sunday at 7pm you will be able to tune in to "Can't Stop The Blues" at www.facebook.com/CantStopTheBlues/ and view a tribute to Ron which was taped today, with Alabama Mike, Chris Cain, Tommy Castro, Tony Coleman, Franck L. Goldwasser, Cathy Lemons, Kid Andersen. Thank you.
